January & February – Winter Quiet

Cold, quiet, and cheap. These are the cheapest months to rent a car in Croatia by a huge margin. We're talking €15-20 per day for a small car that would cost €80 in August. The weather is unpredictable — expect rain, some snow in the mountains (Plitvice is beautiful in winter, though some trails close), and cold temperatures along the coast. But the cities are empty.
